Cooked fish - yes. As far as shrimp shells, I don't think there's much edible about them. But it would give them something to peck at for a while.

They liked picking at lobster shells...

THANKS!!! This is exactly what I was looking for!!

We gave our little ones mealworms for the first time today. We laughed so much!! They would get one and run around and around trying to keep it from the others but weren't really sure what to do with it at first:lol:

Coffee has caffeine in it, and from what little bit i've read on that it'd be a no-no.. Caffeine and birds - It speeds up the heart rate which will lead to, Cardiac malfunction, arrhythmia, hyperactivity, and cardiac arrest. I've been making a mass chart recently and have most of the do's and don'ts of feeding what and what to birds but has been a LONG process and still is going.

Really though i guess it would depend on how many birds divided by X amount of coffee grains and if they would even eat it?

I could burn hours [and do! ] watching these babies. they are just like toddlers. I moved them to their new digs on the porch [4' x 4' puppy pay pen] which gives them much more space, deep litter to scratch and a new hanging feeder They use the feeder for a swing! I decided to try them with a treat --- had a butternut squash, so cut a ring of it and hung it on a string. What did they peck at?? The string, of course, lol. Reminds me of my kids playing with the boxes and paper at Christmas.
