So, I made a homemade feeder that contains a 5 gallon bucket worth of food. However, there's just not enough room for all the chickens to eat. They fight and pick over it. This is in a tractor so it needs to be easy to fill, but I need to be sure everyone can get to the food. Any suggestions? I guess I can do 2 feeders if I really have to, but I'm wondering how people with this many birds do it. My hope was that I wouldn't need space for 50 chickens to eat at once, but since they regularly run out in the middle of the night or their feeder gets clogged, they're always all rushing at the feed whenever I fill it.

Multiple feeders or one large trough feeder. With large flocks you do need enough room at the feeder for a good many of them at one time. As you are finding out they seem to show up when ever you put feed out. If they are running out in the night when they should be sleeping, I would consider if I have an unwanted guest for dinner.

50 chickens in a tractor setting - are these meat birds or layers? (only asking as often the large numbers in tractors are meaties)
How well enclosed is the tractor and is it in an area that remains lit at night? Like Den in Penn, the "run out overnight" bit has me wondering about that consumption.
