I have two adorable, but piggy Nigerian Dwarf goats. I like to leave food in the ducks bowl in their shed, but the pig boys go in and eat it. Does any one have an EASY idea about a type of feeder that the ducks could get their food out of easily, but the boys can't get into. Or knock over to get into. When I will be here all day, I just put the bowl up and then put it back down and stand guard while they eat a few times a day. But I am going away in 11 days and can't expect my farm sitter to do that.
HELP!

We have the same problem here, another BYCer shared a picture of their Feeder Cafe' for the chickens and ducks that has a hinged door for the peopl to refill feeders and a door/hole opening only large enough fr feathered eatters to enter not the goats. Thinking we may build one also.

Wow. A goat-proof feeder that the ducks can access? That's a pretty tall order. My goats (also two Nigie piggies) can break into just about anything.

For what it's worth, what I do is just feed my ducks once a day, in their secure enclosure, with the goats locked up in their separate enclosure. Once the ducks reach adulthood, if they have access to forage, they don't need feed available all day long. If they don't have forage, they still only need to be fed twice a day.

Good luck. I love my goat boys, but when it comes to grain of any sort, it's like trying to keep a crack addict away from her fix. Incarceration is the only solution I know of.

LOL! IT IS QUITE A REQUEST!!!! But there must be something that could work. I will check into that Feeder Cafe to see if that would work. When I am home they can free range most of the day, but it is mostly for when the farm sitter is here or when I put my husband in charge and he gets caught up in stuff and forgets. We have tried a couple of ideas to keep them (goats) out of the shed where the food is, but of course, they just bulldoze right through it. One of them is already way too fat and he certainly does not need duck food. But try to tell him that!
I love them, but grrrrr, they can such pigs!
