What's the rule of thumb for minimum feeder space? Have 14 (really nice

) silkies, laying now. Just concerned that they seem a bit thin......going thru my list of possible reasons why.....

If they are all thin I doubt it's feeder size unless your letting it run empty. If they were crowding each other out I would think the dominant hen would come out in good shape and it would go in scale down to the lowest on the pecking order who would look starved in comparison. Do they have feed all the time and what are you feeding?
