Feeder top????

Ok, I bought this feeder a while ago and now am ready to put my chickens outside and realized that this thing does not have a top? Is that normal? Seems like if it rains it will ruin all the food? Any suggestions to a handmade top creation????

I just leave the feeder in the coop and when they want to eat they can just go eat. Even if you put a top on it the wind will blow water in a ruin your food.

I keep the food in the coop to keep it out of the weather and out of reach of after hours visitors. Chickens seem to have no problem going inside to eat when they tire of foraging in the run.

i just throw the feed down in a line so the other feed wont get wet
