My Silver Duckwing Hen just went broody. She is sitting on 12 eggs ( a beautiful sight ) Should I continue to feed her the laying crumbles that she was eating? Or should I switch to something else since she isnt laying now? She will leave her nest 2 times a day to eat a little and drink. And boy can she eat! but she quickly returns back to her eggs. I want to make sure I am feeding her well and making the most of those few minutes she breaks to eat.

I feed mine chick crumbles. I'm no expert though. They still seem to lose weight while setting.

You can keep feeding them layer feed or the gamebird higher protein feed. Just don't give her too many treats! They need to keep a well-balanced diet and usually more protein.

I agree, gamebird is good. I give all my flock unmedicated grower which is higher in protein than layer, at least around here.
