I am wondering how much less Midget Whites would consume in feed from day old to butcher in comparison to say a Narragansett? I have five heritage mixes now (4 look to be Narraganesett - and one Bronze) Two are Toms and 3 hens. They EAT all the time! They were hatched mid August and are about 3 months old. Will their consumption slow down with age? They currently eat organic turkey pellets (21%) protien, forage some and munch lots of pumpkin.....
I have 16 Midget Whites on order for spring and am hoping to guestimate cost! Thanks for your help!

We have about 30 Midget Whites in a grow out pen now and I would guess they are eating about 20 pounds a day, they are about 6 months old. The feed does go down when they get full size - think of a teenage boy (bottom less pit) vs an adult.

Hmmm mine are about 8 months old now and still eat like crazy-Im attributing it to the cold weather? When I bring down daily treats they are the first to guard the treat bucket until they are done-they are hoggers!!!

What kind of treats are they fond of? My turkeys seem only to like pumpkins and apples, all the other scraps they ignore and the chickens eat instead.
I recently read that a MW eats about 4 pounds of feed per pound of their finished size, at around 8 mos. Does this sound reasonalbe?
