Feeding baby chicks

I occasionally gave mine yogurt and scrambled eggs when they were new. - just small tiny taste- not a meal.

But- I would not over do it, and make sure the things you give them are chopped into tiny bits so they do not get them hung in their throat.

Be sure to start offering chick grit a day or two before offering treats. And don't be discouraged if they don't take to treats at first. Chickens are often afraid of anything new. I've always had good success with a few crushed dried mealworms. That's been my "go-to" for taming baby chicks and teaching them to come to my voice. Good luck and enjoy!

Thank you

Thank you
My peeps are getting big fast & starting to jump out of the pen....next week I will put them in the chicken coop with the heat lamp & hand the feed & watering troughs. Boy they make a mess in them. I'm using large medicated saw shaving for bedding now but I was wondering if I can use speedy dry or sand in the coop.
