I currently own ducks (Indian runners) and have fed them layer pellets since they were old enough to eat them. This year I have decided to get bantam chicks (which will be kept in a different area of the yard) and have only have full sized chickens before. I am not sure what I am in for size wise, and am wondering if they will be able to eat regular layer pellets, or if I should feed them layer crumbles or mash instead? I remember with my full sized chickens that crumbles were so messy and wasteful after they reached a certain age and started kicking them around everywhere, and am not sure how the bantams with handle their feed. I just picked up 6 silkie bantams at TSC on friday (my profile pic) and will be getting more in may. I just adore them and want to do what is best for them. Thanks!
