Feeding . Bottle baby goat ??

I raise goats - sheep - cows.
Last year I needed to use milk replacers for the first time. Went on the web and read all the stories of how bad they are / were and then went to the store and read the bags for ingredients. I total agree that the manufactures have moved away from using soy and all the other #$@^ that was causing a lot of the problems.

I used the milk replacer and my animals thrived with no problems at all. I read the instructions and mixed it properly - I will use milk replacers anytime I need to in the future.

Just my opinion

Thank you, it's time some misinformation stops so people know milk replacer is a viable option.

The posts about problems with milk replacer are not misinformation. They are simply information. As I said, some kids do fine on replacer but some kids definitely don't. It has to do with the metabolism of the individual animal and it is something people should be aware of. What they decide to do is up to them. I've said everything I have to say on the subject and now I am going to go bake a cake.

Ok I need some help bout to go pick my baby up from the women , she says she has been feeding him land o lakes does match replacer, I don't know if I'll be about to get that from tractor supply and I was gonna do the whole milk but I do t want to upset his stomach I need help !!!any suggestions on what I can do?

You can probably pick up the Land O' Lakes at Tractor Supply. Personally, I would feed milk. If you are concerned about the changeover, have the breeder give you some replacer and then mix it up and dilute it with milk. If you are going to continue with replacer, get some Gas X and keep it on hand. Kids occasionally bloat on replacer, and when they do so there is no warning. The Gas X will deflate then nicely. You may never have need for the Gas X but having it is cheap insurance. Make sure the kid is vaccinated for entero and tetanus. If this hasn't been done pick up a vial of CD/T and a syringe from the feed store and do it yourself.

Feed it what you are most comfortable with. You can switch them to anything as long as you mix the two together and slowly eliminate whatever one you don't want to feed, but you will have to feed what they are used too initially. All changes should be made slowly, as well as any increases, goats get used to whatever you are giving them, there's no one right way to feed them. I prefer baking soda for any digestive troubles because it can easily be mixed with water and squirted in the mouth with a needless syringe or be fed out of the bottles.

Ok thank you I asked her , and she said she did have him on cows milk but then switch because another person was suppose to get him but didn't show up or answer her messages , so she said he should do fine when switching
