so I have not done this but wondered if others had.

We have a pool and I'm constantly skimming dead bugs off the surface of the pool. I assume they tried to get a drink and drown in the process.

The other day I wondered about feeding these dead bugs to the chickens, but did not know if the chlorine in the pool water would be an issue.

Does anyone with a pool feed the floating bugs to their chickens?

If they are 'fresh', not been soaking for a long time i would try rinsing them off and giving it a try at least once.

I took a skimmerful of Japanese beetles and fed them to my chickens. Most of the beetlese were still alive though. Not sure if I'd feed the dead ones though.

Chickens will eat dead and dried up meal worm beetles without a pause.

How did they like the Japanese Beetles?

I have the exact same question! At first I was all "BUFFET!", but then I thought about all the chemicals and opted not to serve them. My daughter (8) sometimes will, and they do love them, but I try to avoid it.
