Feeding Chicken Laying Mash To Bobwhite Quails

Can I feed bobwhites chicken laying mash? One of our female bobwhites laid their first egg. At that time, they were on game bird crumbles. The egg they laid was soft, rubbery, and thin-shelled. I assume that my quails don't have enough calcium to get that hard eggshell, so I decided to switch to chicken laying feed so I won't have any thin eggshells in the future.

To answer my question, IS IT OKAY TO FEED BOBWHITE QUAILS CHICKEN LAYING MASH? The first egg they laid was rubbery and soft while they were on game bird feed.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated!

They need a game bird feed supplemented with calcium like from crushed oyster shell. Chicken feed doesn't have the right nutrition for game birds.
