We do a lot of butchering at our house.

we have a couple deer to do. After we get what we want from the deer is it ok to feed the rest to the chickens?

We did this with a pig after we had a pig roast. Threw the carcass into the pen and they went nuts. They had it picked clean in a couple hours. SO I was hoping I can do the same with deer carcasses.

feeding them meat is totally fine. its a great source of vitamins and minerals. it will really help them and they will enjoy it! we feed our meat now and again.

I guess I will just have to sneak them some meat

Meat is full of protein. Chickens need protein to make eggs. Deer meat is better because there's no preservatives & very little fat. Its very healthy for the chickens & you. I love venision I eat it all the time.

The meat will not be rancid.... Just left overs that we do not feel like spending hours getting off the bones. Chicken beaks seem to be great for that.

And by the time deer season gets into full swing most of the stuff they have been picking at in the yard will be dead for the season so I figured it might be a nice treat.

I can not wait to throw the first one in there
