Feeding chicks and chickens organically and soy free

My family and I have decided to raise chickens partially as pets, but also for eggs. We are wanting to raise them organically and also soy free. I was wondering if anyone else out there was doing the same and if u all have any organic feed brand recommendations.

Also, I have been doing alot of research on mixing my own feeds. While there is a wealth of information on mixing chicken feeds, I am having a very difficult time finding a good, consistent opinion on mixing my own chick starter feed.

I got a bag of organic soy-free chick crumbles from my feed store. It was produced by Modesto Milling and my chicks love it. Modesto is a city a couple of hours from us so that may be why it's available here. You may be able to order from them. ModestoMilling.com
