Ok. If I get chicks from penning her in the barn, do I need to put out a seperate feed bowl with baby food?
I will put a shallow water bowl. I guess that's all I can think of for now. Just trying to plan ahead.
Also they will eat lettuce that is ripped up. The hen will help them find food, make sure the feed does not have to high protein, 28% is good. If the food is to big the hen will help them find smaller pieces. I agree put 28% chick feed in the house and some greens.
I would not feed the peachicks over a 22% protein medicated feed 28% is too high. Go to Brads websight he feeds a 20% chick starter there a reason for this high protein put too much weight on them too fast and the legs will go out.
