Feeding chicks

At about 2 weeks but keep in mind they may turn up their beak at it for up to 6 weeks. Meal worms can be given sooner. Also, if they are eating anything other then their feed (like treats or grass) they need to be provided grit. A small bag of chick grit last a long time, you just put it in a bowl on the side and they will take it as they need it. The grit stores in their gizzard and works so they can digest their food.

At what age can we start giving our chicks unused greens?
I let them peck at sprouted wheat grain fodder at 5 days old, they love it. I believe in letting chick play and learn to tear up food at an early age--just put it in there, they may or may not eat it, start small. It will not hurt them at any age.
