feeding coturnix quail

The main thing to look for is the right nutrition. If these are chicks, they should be getting something around 28% protein. If they're adult, 20% is adequate. There is more to the nutrition than just protein. Here is a video that shows the labels for specific feeds for chicks and layers.

Have you thought about how much shipping feed costs?
Have you checked your local stores to see what they carry?
How much money are you willing to spend each month on feed?

My feed from a local feed store costs about .50 cents a pound, but just a few months ago it was cheaper.

If you can order from chewy, and don’t have a local shopping option, I highly recommend Hudson Feed Gamebird pellets. The birds love them, and I have one with special needs who I was supplementing and she could barely walk, and I switched her to Hudson, and she’s up and about. I only switched from them because it’s $34 for 50 lbs vs $25 for 50 lbs. I just get it for my one small indoor group now.

Also Hudson feed makes less smelly poop. It made a world of difference with my small indoor group.
