I wasn't really sure how to word the title to this thread...Anyway I have a question. I have two one year old hens and two seven week old pullets that are living together. They are really used to eachother and I haven't had any issues with bullying or fighting. My only worry is that I have 2 feeders for them, one with starter grower and one with layer pellets. Is this okay? If the chicks a little of layer and their feed is it going to hurt them?

Here's a pic of the set up. I added a small pvc pipe feeder that has just the starter grower in it.

Mixed flock require putting away the Layer. Young birds cannot handle the calcium supplement that is in Layer.

Just feed everyone All Flock, Starter, Raiser, Grower, etc. You can put a shell basket out for the layers as only their bodies crave and they alone mess with, as a rule.

Okay, I'll make the big feeder all grower and the small one oyster shell. thanks!
