Feeding diving ducks live fish

Hi guys! I don't currently have any divers but am hoping to get some hooded mergansers this fall(only mandarins right now). My question is does any one feed their ducks live fish? I have a good source for live trout fingerlings(friend owns a trout farm) and was wondering if that's ok. How about crayfish(crawdads)? Thank a bunch in advance.

It will be fine and they will enjoy it, I feed mine live fish/minnows from the pond adjacent to my pen as well. The only downside might be from parasites carried by the fingerlings but I have never ran into a problem with it on my hooded mergansers.

They love small fish. I have never seen any adverse effect.
