I started feeding Winifred mashed egg on Sunday night as the other two ducklings she came with have almost tripled in size compared to her. She had always attempted to eat her chick feed but has trouble because of her bill. I initially gave her some egg strait from my hand to encourage her to try some, now she loves it. I feel like I have created a monster. Every time I go check on them she stares and chirps at me for egg even while the others are eating. I guess my question is how much egg is too much? I even tried making a mix with her chick starter thinking that would be healthier and she picks the egg out.

At what point do I say forget the egg and make her eat her chick starter? I'm concerned that if I do that she won't make it.

I don't think 2 eggs a day would hurt her and I think she needs the extra protein to catch up with the other ducks. You might even try putting warm water in her chick starter and see if she likes it better that way or mix applesauce with it anything to get her to eat more. Also be sure and give her a little grit on top of her eggs she is going to need that if she eats anything besides the chick starter. Some ducks like warm oatmeal too mine don't care for it but you might try that also. I hope she does better and catches up with the others.
