I am presently going thru the turmoil of the fox. I am busy putting up electric fence as another one of my babies (hens) was killed yesterday. I also have the live trap out with the hope catch the fox. My question is how would you prepare fox to be served to the hens .

I'd do it like I do other critters I give them. Open up the abdomen so they can get to the guts and other organs. They seem to really enjoy those. If you can cut them open so they can get to meat, they enjoy that too.

Yup I had problems with Fox killing my hens. I built a 6 foot tall solid wood fence, highest allowed by by HOA. To my dismay fox was able to climb over the fence with ease day and night. So I resorted to killing the fox which entered within my small fenced yard. I took out 9 fox inside my 3rd acre fenced yard within a year. Not to waste the animal, I saved the hide and cooked the carcass and cut it into small morsels as treats for my hens. My chickens go crazy over the cooked meat. I discard the internals and grill, or boil the carcass which renders more hen treats. Feed the well cooked meat to my flock in moderation. My girls seem to enjoy the fox meat over whole grain bread.

This is an older thread from back in 2016, but I did find a fox recipe that might help those that might have this question in the future:
