Feeding grower pellets to a hen with chicks?

The chicks are 4 weeks old now and ready to switch to grower pellet but when I seperate them they wont eat and the hen gets nervous.

I have fed grower only to the whole flock when I've had this situation. I offer oyster shell in a separate dish. I don't think there is much difference in the nutrition, other than the calcium. You could also feed flock raiser if it is available. I've never seen chicks pay any attention to the oyster shell.

All I ever feed is a 22% protein grower crumble. From hatch to death or departure that's all I use.
