Welcome! I feed Flock Raiser to all my birds, with oyster shell on the side. Both free choice, and they free range on my farm whenever possible. A bit of scratch feed or scraps as treats only. Good layer feed is fine, but not best for cock birds, molting, or young birds, so one feed for everyone is easiest for me! The 'best' feed is what's available FRESH at your local feed stores, and then if you've decided on organic only, for example. Laying hens are working very hard metabolically, and need a good balanced diet. Mary

All very good advice. Also, even though it isn't feeding, its very important to supply them with fresh water 24/7. If not, they will get stressed an wont lay well.
