At present I am feeding 20% starter mash to my jerseys. They weighed 75 grams at 7 days and 132.5 grams at 2 weeks yesterday.Anyone has a chart/ guide as to the weight gain for these birds. If not I will post the weights every tuesday until egg laying begins.I weigh sets of 10 birds to get an average weight.
I would like to know when to change to grower and then layer.

I'll be interested to see this. I don't ever feed grower. They go from starter to layer. Right now I have some six month olds in the breeder coop and am just doing 50% layer 50% chick starter. If I had the space I would do starter and then when I saw my first egg go to layer. My feed is 20% protein.

Thanks I'm feeding my 9 week old ISA Brown layers with a management guide supplied online. So far they are above the recommended weights and says to switch to pullet grower when they are 10 weeks old. I thought I'd follow that guide for the Jerseys, taking into account their later development.

My JGs are 21 days old today and I weighed 13 birds to get a total weight of 3999 grams for an average weight .Birds still on 20% protein starter.

1 week 75 grams
2 weeks 132.5 grams
3 weeks 211.85 grams

I will weigh the JG's when I return to Tobago on the 26th.I am presently in Ft Lauderdale

Just changed my feed for all chickens, ducks, geese and even rabbits to freshcut grass supplimented with 16% all purpose feed and an equal amount in weight of pig grower ration. This has cut my feed bill by 30% with no change in size or amount in egg production.roughly 110 grams per bird per day.
