ive heard that kelp meal is one of the best feeds for chickens, is this true? Should i just put some of it on the layer feed or should i give it to them instead of layer feed? Is it best to put some on the layer feed in warm months and then feed it to them instead of the layer feed during the winter because its so nutritious? Were are some good places to buy it?

I mix it into the feed at a rate of about 5% by weight. The extra minerals and enzymes are probably beneficial, but be careful where you buy because some prices are outrageous. I buy from North American Kelp in bulk and it is much less expensive. It keeps for a long time and I also use it on my blueberry bushes and garden. Great stuff.

I have some leftover seaweed wrap that I used for sushi but if it alright I was thinking I'd crush them up and sprinkle a little bit on their food every now and then... what are your guy's thoughts?
