Feeding layers and rooster All Flock Feed

I just feed them all 'layer feed'...... roosters and hens! I think people make too much of a deal about the extra calcium in layer feed not being good for roosters, a lot of folks feed layer and I've yet to hear of roosters dying on the spot or anything.

You may feel differently once you've had chickens for a year or few.

I feed mine purina startina game bird chow for growth and feathers, high protein no/little calcium with oyster shell and egg shell on the side. Some girls will not eat the oyster shell, others dont touch the egg shell, to each their own
I certainly want my rooster to be healthy, and my old guy is going on 7YO (or is he 8)!
