feeding laying hens

Jingle I feed mine bananas, strawberries, (all fruits and veggies). A friend says that he does not give them processed food scraps as it keeps them healthier.

Free range all day, feed once and only what they can clean up by the next morning. I adjust that amount to their needs. Layer mash for peak laying times, whole grains mixed in with the mash during down times(its cheaper that way). OS free choice during heavy molt recovery and sometimes will mix it right into the feed if shells are still thin.

Veggie and food scraps it there are any available after the dogs take their pick...usually not much left after both the dogs and the sheep have taken what they want. Garden surplus in season if the dogs and sheep don't steal it first.

Deer and chicken scraps from processing.

ACV in the water.
