My plan is to switch over to flock raiser when the current feeds are used up, but in the meantime, I'm wondering, can laying hens eat non-medicated starter? I'm assuming chicks should not eat layer food because of the added calcium. I think I can put the hen's food up high enough to keep the 5 week olds out as long as it is okay for the hens to have some of the chick food. They all get along while ranging now, so I'd like to start housing them together.
