Good afternoon. Like the title says, I need advice on feeding my new flock. They are 9 weeks old and stay outside in the coop. They go up at night and stay in the roost, and go out in the covered run during the day. The food bucket stays inside the coop so they have 24 access to it. Do I need to move it outside so they can only eat during the day, or should I keep it inside the coop? Also, when should I switch from chick feed to layer feed?

Welcome to BYC.
Where you put the feeder doesn't matter much. They will be sleeping at night and unless they sleep walk they usually don't eat at night. If you have little room in the coop, putting it outside does free up some room. Having it outside can be an invitation to the local wild birds. A lot of times it comes down to what is easier for you.

I have to keep feed inside or else I end up feeding the doves and finches, they are so greedy! When my chicks hit about 2 months I ran out of chick starter and the feed store recommended triple duty until they get to egg laying age.
