So my ducklings are about 3 weeks old (Not sure what breed as they were a gift) and I've run out of starter food for them, and can't afford to get some growth pellets quite yet. Would it be bad or unhealthy for them to eat Canary/Finch feed until I can? So maybe about a week?

no, that is seed, not enough nutrients for ducks. feed them chopped lettuce, fruit, veggies ets..that would be better than canary food for them. but they really need the niacin and vitamins in the chick starter. if the pic you posted is one of them then i'd say you have pekins.

Buy a small bag of starter and also add niacin to their diet because Pekins grow so fast their legs can develop problems so adding niacin to their det will counteract the problems. also add the veggies but a week without good feed could be detrimental to their health. http://metzerfarms.blogspot.com/2011/03/are-my-ducklings-leg-problems-due-to.html and

ps I am pretty sure TSC carries smaller bags of chick starter.

Those are some good suggestions, thank you very much! That is an old picture from when I got the first one 2 weeks ago. It's more than double that size now and turning more white.

yes, that's how pekins do...they'll be all white really quick. Miss lydia had a good suggestion..the medium bags are about 10 pounds and cost about 8 bucks..but at least in mine they have little bags that are like 5 pounds for around 4.99...and giving them just seeds for a whole week will be very bad for them.
