Feeding my new chicks.

I read you can give them oatmeal. Do you mean dry oats or a oatmeal liquefied? Also I heard its good to add a little sugar to their water? Is that true?

Tammy, the best thing to start them on is chick starter. Sometimes you may need to buzz it in the blender if the crumbles are a bit too big. Yes, you can put some sugar in the water if they are stressed from shipping. Electrolyte mix is better. There are some recipes for electrolyte mix some where on these threads.

Feed chick starter!!! preferably the one with added amprolium. Water, maybe with added electrolytes, or one plain water and one with electrolytes. Nothing else for a while, then later tiny amounts of other stuff as treats, when you have a separate dish of grit available. You can only mess up their balance diet, not improve it. Mary
