OK, I know I saw the answer to my question before, but I cannot find it now!

I want to try to go organic when I get my new chicks and the store is 100 miles away. so I am trying to figure out how much to buy, how long it will last etc.

I saw SOMEWHERE approximately how many pounds new chicks will eat in their first _____ weeks...

Can anyone tell me where to find this info? So sorry to ask when I should have made a note of it before!

It took me 100 pounds of feed, give or take, to feed out a dozen days old chicks to age 8 weeks, if I recall correctly. The point it this. Buy two bags, or 80-100 lbs if you have a dozen chicks. You can feed it right up to point of lay, so it certainly will not go to waste. Running out of feed is a downer.
