Feeding problems

My husband built a few gravity feeders and my girls throw the grain all over the coop, they put more on the floor then in the feeders in a days time do I need different feeders? Is it normal?

What are you feeding them? Is it fresh?
I feed my chickens Purina Flock Raiser. They really like it and don't waste it. If any gets spilled, someone eats it. I give it to them in dog bowls.

my hens like to spread food everywhere too i got them one of these feeders --> https://www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/product/little-giant-plastic-flip-top-poultry-feeder-2167094 and a big one like this one --> https://www.petco.com/shop/en/petco...-feeder-for-birds-medium-08-gal-5-lbs-2788567 at tractor supply its basically impossible for them to spill food unless they somehow tip them over, try a design for the feeder part like the feeders in the links

Pictures of your gravity feeders please. My chickens also eat what they spill. Perhaps yours are searching for something better. What are you feeding them and what is the mill date on the bag?

If your feed is as close to the top like the picture, add another piece of PVC to extend it out further. The chickens will have to reach in further and should help with them billing it out.
