feeding raw eggs to hens???

I don't do this but I have heard that it is good to feed raw eggs and the shells to hens. Any thoughts on this?

I always give mine some all the eggs I throw out of the incubator or just old eggs that I didn't use.

I wouldn't feed them eggs unless cooked because they can become egg eaters and lay an egg and eat it! That's what happened with one of my hens! Lesson learned!! lol

in my experience, they get a taste for them and once they see what's in those things............
