Feeding really old cereal??

Chirpy, I would go ahead and see if they'll eat it. Actually, even if it had bugs in it I would still feed it to them. After all, when they free range, they eat bugs and we think it's great, so why not!? I would just try a handful or two first, though, so that if they don't eat it you won't have too much to clean up.

i would feed it to them in a second. when i was younger, at one point we got a box of pudding that was twenty years old from the food bank. it wasn't a pleasant idea at first, but it was fine. just a little dusty. stuff that is dry lasts forever.

lol like nmred said, if it had bugs, chickens love bugs. little crawling proteins. not me.........but.........not a chicken. i think they like moving food even better than still food. bugs aren't dirty to a chicken.

I fed my girls some old Cheerios when cleaning out the cupboards and they went nuts over it. It was dated early 2006. Now I have to BUY them cheerios or they feel deprived.

Lily is a Cheerio fiend, cries and cries if she doesnt get at least a few every day. She even knows the word.

my duck will poke the hip of my goat with a beak like she's a gumball machine until something she like spills out the backway. she never actually puts a quarter in so maybe that's why there are never any rings or tattoos amongst the prize packages on the ground that are well, food pellets apparently now. all in the eye of the beholder i guess.

Ahhhhhhhh Pickles - if laughter is good for the soul then you consistently help make sure my soul is getting what is good for it!

Chirpy - I would have fed the Crispix without a second thought

it's true.

i've only seen it once but the way the duck did it, it sort of seemed like he knew what he was doing. maybe. just a little.

we can always count on you pickles to provide the moments when we spew our coffee on the computer screen laughing!!!!
