Feeding the chickens..need input here

Ok so here is a picture of the feed dish that i use to feed my seven chickens.

What im wondering is: should i just let them eat outta the feed pan or should i spread it around on the ground..you know like toss it around their run and let them peck at the ground??

Either is OK but they will probably waste less food if you keep it in the bowl.

Do you leave this out all the time or put it down/pick it up at certain times?

I'd just leave it in the bowl... unless you have too many birds and they can't all get to it. In that case I'd spread it out, you'd just not want some to be bullied away from the food.

I leave it out for them all day then put it away and night. I only have seven chickens and four are silkies
