We have three roosters we are penning separately from the flock, and are going to cull. Eventually.
A few days ago, I put them on the Purina Meat Bird Feed, don't remember the exact name, but my feed guy said it would beef 'em up for slaughter.
Now, today, I caught my husband throwing it down as "treats" for the regular flock. My laying hens and 10 week old pullets just snarfed it down like candy.
Is there serious harm in feeding non-meat birds this, or will it be okay as an "occaisional" treat?
TIA-
