Feeding weeds and such from the yard.

I know that free range chickens eat whatever they want. i just weeded my veg garden and was thinking of tossing the weeds into the girls. Any potential issues? also, i have alot of poison ivy and poison oak on my property and am worried that when i do let them out later on they will find it. Do chickens know to stay away from stuff like that? I know goats love the stuff and it doesnt bother them at all so. Thanks.

Poison ivy and oak will not bother your chickens, but it they get the sap on their feathers and then you handle them you could pick it up. I always throw my weeds in for the girls to pick at.

They love all of the dandelions I've been throwing in for them. So many I think they're getting bored...
