Feeding?

At what age do I stop giving chicks food all day long? I have 2 cochin Bantams at 6 weeks, and they are out all day with a 14 week old meat hen. I had to cut back on her food a week ago, because I was told I was feeding her way too much. She stays in the pen all day until evening, then she comes out for about an hour. If I put the chicks food in the pen with her, she eats all of it! I am constantly moving their food around the coop and run.. I have been putting her food back in all day, shoot, I do not know what to do, starve the chicks or have an obese hen!

I didnt know you stopped, but I d rather have a fat hen than skinny chicks.

Me too..

..I woke up and decided to just put food in 2 seperate feeders in the run, but the chicks will have access to layena with oyster shells and the older 1 will eat medicated chick food..oh well, at least no one will be hungry..

i think most people just leave hem out all day even when thery're adults.
