I built a chicken tractor with a day run, and an upstairs sleeping and egg laying area, to get up into the sleeping and laying area there's a ramp that shuts at night, should I put food up with them, or just let them have it when I let them out in the morning?

They won't eat or drink when its dark, so save yourself the energy. If they're hungry when the sun is getting lower they will get their food and water evening snack in and then go and roost.

Its good that you're thinking ahead though!

Oh, sorry! Welcome to BYC! I'm glad you found us! You'll find that this is a pretty darn handy site.

Enjoy your upcoming adventures! Oh, and we love pics, so if you're in the mood to show off your tractor and your chickens.....we'd love to see!
