Feeds affecting laying?

Producer's Prid is the main "problem," I think. And Dumor, which is odd since they are owned by different companies. But whatevs. I'm sending off stuff tomorrow. I'm a lil too busy today, and I still need to buy the feed. I use Dumor and Nutrena, not PP.
Well, the thing is, these brands are practically the same brand. Cargill makes both Purina and Nutrena. Purina makes Producer's Pride and Dumor. It's the same with all major brands, they're owned by the same few companies just with different names.

Bravo @8shotsmorethots
Very, very well said.

You know who doesnt have a conspriacy theory website or YouTube channel?

My 75 year old neighbors down the street who have raised eggs for the community for 30 plus years.

Their whole flock shut down as well after Halloween and restarted in early December once they ditched Producers Pride food. That was WITH supplemental lighting. Same amount of lighting for the past 10 years plus, no changes to previous years. Birds of varying ages 9 months and up. ONLY change was the FOOD. Sorry, switch was BEFORE the solstice. Daylight hours still decreasing then. So now what??

I’ll be sure to let them know tomorrow when I see them again that people here think they are fools and ignorant and how their “trust has been abused”. What a total bunch of CRAP! Those type of comments will surely help us all.

Sorry but this is happening folks.

Repeating that its a lie, not happening, is a conspiracy theory or the newbies just don’t understand chickens is really extremely sad. Bullies don’t win in the long run. Truth wins.

Thought people were here to learn and share.
Guess that depends on the mods.

Disappointed.
Yes the people having issues should not be immediately dismissed, especially when are making the observation that simply changing feed has fixed the problem. This is not an unreasonable assumption by any stretch of the imagination. I don't get the hostility. This is how recalls of specific lots/batches start. On top of that, because everybody is desperately trying to cut costs by any means, I wouldn't put it past intentional either. There is more water and less food in the cat food cans for my cat now; why is it unreasonable to think other animal foods can't be similarly affected?

I think Purina is actually 2 separate companies: Purina and Purina-Ralston. But whatevs.

But the folks NOT having problems are getting dismissed, too.

The lab should only take a few days. We'll see what transpires.

This could also be whomever these companies use to compound/mix/make the food batches. I'm not familiar with animal food manufacturing processes, but when I worked in human food manufacturing we were just the compounder and used whatever formulas the brand wanted. We made a brand name product and a cheaper competing company's product using the same forumulation and same raw ingredients with no actual difference in product. We had a recall once because the 3rd party company who made the packaging for the product (purchased/ordered by the brand/our customer) had a lot with a defect that was allowing minute amounts of water/air inside the packaging.

Obviously not every single person using the feed has had the problem, only some. This does not mean there is no problem and this does not mean they are all problematic. Were you able to find a potentially affected batch?

Not yet. Working on it. No one around here is complaining about it.

If you know someone who is willing to get some tested, too, I'd be appreciative. Or even send me some.
