So I've successfully hatched 5 eggs out of 10 and then 2 ducklings out of 6 than 8 quail out of 23 and now 2 silkies out of 9, my numbers are dropping, and it all goes wrong on lock down! Any advice? I keep incubator closed and up humidity to 70-80% and have turned regularly, they start to pip and then don't make it

Were all the eggs viable? what did they look like when you candled?

There are many factors that can influence the outcome of incubation, so more detail is needed, like:
  • What kind of incubator? And still or circulated air?
  • Are you using an independent thermometer and hygrometer?
  • Shipped or local eggs?
  • What temps and humidity % prior to lockdown?
  • What do the "eggtopsies" show? Are they sticky, shrinkwrapped, too much fluid, unabsorbed yolks, malpositioned, etc.?
I know it's disappointing when they pip but don't make it to the finish line (so close! :barnie), but incubation - at least for me - is an ongoing learning experience. :)
