I am really feeling down although very happy to have at least 5 cute little Blue Slate poults. I had candled at 10 days and removed 10 eggs that were clear or had died. The rest were doing so well. When I cracked them open today they had stopped developing probably around day 20 or so. I keep trying to think what would have happened to all 25 and yet have 5 (thank goodness) very healthy and vigorous poults. Any ideas? The temperature was constant as I checked it, of course, every time I turned the eggs.
Last time I put in 24 eggs and we had 13 hatch. I don't expect to have a perfect hatch but did expect a little better than this. Some eggs I washed and most I did not. It didn't seem to matter.
Thank you for listening to me moan and groan. You are always so great at listening and understanding. Please be kind as I am being hard enough on myself trying to figure out what I did wrong.

n ratio? How did you store your eggs before hatching and how many days. What kind of incubator are you using? What kind of incubator are you running, table top or cabinet? Forced air or still? Humidity and temp at incubation and lock down? Give a bit more info and maybe we can help to see what went wrong. The 5 poults you got look good.
