Feeling Sad

I know it's hard to be bullied (trust me, I've been there). Hold your head high, there's nothing wrong with what you like. There will always be bullies no matter how old you are, no matter who you are, just be yourself.

Take care of yourself

RIP Pepi

Just ignore them, they are doing it because they know it upsets you and want to get a reaction out of you. They are not important, what they say will have no impact on your life unless you let it.

Do what you love in life and try your best to let their comments roll off your back. Years after high school those 'followers' will continue to follow and never have the passion you do for your quail and your hatching of chickens or whatever. Life is to be lived and it's kinda hard to see that in high school. Sounds like you've got it already. good for you!
ps. why text and live a virtual life when you can actually live it.

sorry to hear about your "baby" my seramas are my babies when I was in high school a wrestleing coach told me to grow thicker skin , one of the better teachers I had was a history teacher he told me every now and then I just needed to have a piece of mistletoe on my shirttail for folks who made fun of me

I am so sorry that people say those things to you Alison. I have had that problem a lot in my life. I have been an animal person since, well, I think in the womb! City girls in Jr High and then in High School used to make fun of me for being "redneck" because I revolved around my animals. My animals were my best friends. I would get off the bus to go to my animals, where I could find unconditional love. They are so beautiful and give a sense of peace and meaning to life.

Even as an adult, my parents..... and now my inlaws think my life long career substandard when they want to, and yet I will catch them bragging at other times.... about how I had run the Animal Services for the whole County, and led the team that evacuated near 2000 animals during an enormous forest fire in 2002, winning praise from The American Humane Assn. nationwide. And yet they will still raise an eyebrow when I talk of the quail or a chicken.... Loving animals can take you to a higher, stronger ground. Follow your heart.

Some odd folk may laugh or make fun or look down upon it... But at the end of the day I AM THE HAPPIEST ONE, because I am surrounded by love. I am teaching my son to do so too, at an early age. We took our bantams to preschool and all the little kids said "cool! can I touch?"

Alison, people like us, will change the world. We will be kind and loving inspite of the insecurity and cruelty around us.

Congratulations on being one of the best humans. I am thinking of Pepi for you. I hope that you meet another and another and another to give your love to. You obviously have a lot to give.

Your doing the right thing. Its just what you like so do it. Ive been raising birds for ever. Its just what I like to do. I pretty much name all my birds baby because their all my babies.Keep at it!! Good luck!!

I'm sorry for your loss of Pepi. I hate high school just as much as you do. Sometimes people just can't understand our love for our animals.

Most folks are afraid to be individuals. Afraid to be open about likes, dislikes, feelings, beliefs. Those folks tend to run in groups, flocks if you will, like sheep. All doing the same thing, dressing the same, talking the same, same hobbies. Just like sheep. High school age people are more prone to this because they have not yet become secure with who they are or want to be.
Be comfortable with who you are. Live life for you and those close to you. IGNORE THE SHEEP!!!! Let your freak flag fly if thats who you want to be...A confident, independent woman, is a joy to find, and usually happy. Be one if you can... Best of luck, Bill
