Now we always thought would try raising chickens and clean out the coop sitting on the north west part that came with the property. But unless one fell from the sky would be ever do it. Well guess what! It happened!
it appeared in my Oklahoma backyard out of nowhere. Red skinny bird, extremely skiddish. Fed it, gave her water. Made a new friend. She hung tight inside our wisteria bush. My back yard, one acre of land is full of trees and bushes, I guess that makes it attractive to the bird brains. Perhaps she has been hiding out in my yard for weeks!
Asked my neighbor, “is this your chicken?”, “Nup” came the reply. Asked people two blocks South, “Not my chicken”, said they. Asked man two blocks to the north. ”Yeah, could be one of mine, but always escapes, you can have it”.
sigh, no nothing about it but learning fast.
