Fell off a cliff

So I have three half-grown chicks who range because the chicken-fence is not done yet. So today the turken comes up to me -- you notice that in a mixed flock, it's always a turken who comes up to a human to say "Timmy's in the well" right? -- and rants at me until I follow her to... crap, the cliff. The other two are shrieking in the vines, trying to fly up but the vines are too thickly tangled. I managed to grab one by the head/neck and pull her up enough to grab legs, but she went into a panic about it and the lower one went into the same panic, meaning she fell out of the vines onto a ... stone shelf? some feet below where she was.

I have two chicks safe now, but the the third is quiet and out of sight.

I've taken the old cardboard box they used to nest in and made kind of a baited trap (or elevator) out of it and lowered it to what might be the shelf, although with my vision it could be sitting some feet above the shelf. I plan to try to raise the box at dusk, hoping the chick finds it by smell by then.

The box is not stable, which actually makes me think it's on something like a branch above the shelf, but I'm afraid if I try to rock it around a lot to lower it below whatever it's snagged on, it would just snag on that again as I tried to raise it. On the other hand, if it's not low and stable, the chick might not feel safe going into it. Which is worse?

What else can I do?

Yes, getting the chicken-net put in ASAP is a given. Besides that...?

I am a terrible photographer, and the vines overhang.
