Felt something weird

I was holding my chicken today and it felt like she had a golf ball size of rocks just above her breast... what is that all about?

That is her crop. They store food in it until it goes into the gizzard to be digested.

She was full...in the morning it will be down to nothing.

You mean her tummy was full and she was just keeping it for seconds? It all felt like rocks, did I hurt her by feeling it? This is interesting!
