In the Brooder
I have 1 mallard, 3 mallards/grey and 1 peking duck. They are all fully grown adult ducks that i hand raised from babies. All around 3ish years old.
I have noticed a change in their beak colour over the past 2 years and i have no idea whether its normal or not.
Their beaks use to be normal plain beak color with a lighter shade of grey or orange around the rims but a year ago i notice little speckles of black dots appearing; then they got bigger and more noticeable. I did do a bit of research into it as i had to have them on small stones for a bit a year or so ago due to moving and having to find a new house. Recently though... well today i noticed on 2 of the females their is green appearing on their beaks and i am just wondering if it is a cause for concern?
I make sure they always have fresh water and their houses that sit on the side of the garden tier (the thing that looks like letter boxes on the left side of the picture) are clean. They did have grass a month ago but it turned into a giant muddy mess due to winter so we made a new enclosure for them as seen in the picture. We are moving to a farm soon where they'll have grass galore but i just want to make sure they don't need to see a vet or be medicated before moving.
My male peking also has a light discoloration on the tip of his beak.
If anyone can help that would be great.
P.s The picture of the mallard and baby peking is a photo from 3 years ago and the picture of the green beak is the same duck today; just to compare the difference.
