Female Duck Behaviour?

She is asking to be mated my 5 month old Runner females started this at age 3 months and began chasing the drakes.
Yeah, sheās asking you to mate with her. You need to stop petting her back and neck - she thinks you are flirting with her.

Whats weird is my drakes are the same age and they haven't done anything to her while she does this
The girls mature faster. I have 2 young Runner drakes who just turned 8 months yesterday and are just now getting interested in the girls.

Itās just confusing to them, and could stress them out more when youāre not around. You can pet their chests, bellies, and bills just fine without confusing them.
No go ahead and pet her it's not hurting a thing soon the drake will have his way and she won't be laying for you.
My Large fowl hens squat for me I pet them they get up shake and walk off just like if the rooster mated them. It's quite comical.
My 4 Runner girls who just turned 5 months were so brazen they would run after the drakes and just about trip them up.Ohh, Interesting. should i stop petting her and ignore this? will she get frustrated
