Female duck belly low to the ground

When my ducks are laying their bellies just about drag the ground even my Runners. It maybe typical for many breeds to keep that pouch even when not laying especially as they get older. Look up pictures of ducks with ascites it’s def something you’d notice.
This is super helpful! I’m having the same issue and it makes sense they’re about to lay I’m so excited

She’s the black one.
I have a Swedish blue/runner mix she looks just like yours and is just over 3 yrs old and hers hangs so low it drags the ground some days but wasn't like that 2 mo ago(I thought she just got fat 😅) she went threw a molt that lasted about 6 weeks and 2 weeks later she started laying again (she's a single duck so she lives in the house) but they won't lay for a couple- few weeks before/after molting and don't lay during and stop laying when they are stressed so if she was laying before you got her she could have stopped because of the change in surroundings until she felt comfortable if it's hanging lower she might start laying again soon
